Elizabeth Hale Knox in Performance
Biography
Mezzo-soprano Elizabeth Hale Knox started singing professionally at the age of 19. As a soloist, she has performed with prestigious institutions throughout the country, including the Chattanooga Opera, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Indianapolis Bach Festival, Evansville Symphony Orchestra, and the Lafayette Bach Chorale Singers. In the Chicago area, she has appeared as a soloist with the DuPage Opera Theatre, Lincoln Opera, Chamber Opera of Chicago, and the Tower Chorale.
She also has performed with the Blossom Music Festival and the Aspen Music Festival.
Ms. Knox is on the current roster of the Music of the Baroque chorus. She also has served as a full-time member of the Lyric Opera of Chicago and the Grant Park Music Festival Chorus.
Ms. Knox received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Vocal Performance from Indiana University in Bloomington. She won first place at the Bartenbach Voice Competition of the Layafette Symphony in Lafayette, Indiana, second place at the National Arts and Letters competition in Chicago, and was a finalist at the Society of American Musicians competition in Chicago.
